The Impact of Relativism on Believers
Does our faith have a voice in the modern world?
As human persons we seek to know the truth about our experiences in order to understand the purpose for our lives. Discovering such truth is often difficult, especially in a culture that tends to accept many subjective truths as equally valid standards for moral order. Rather than seeking, with profound attentiveness, the foundation and principle of our human reality, it can be easy to simply accept the latest celebrity tweets, status updates, and CNN headlines as fodder for our daily lives… but are we satisfied? How can we live and proclaim the Truth of the Gospel when there are so many other conversations, distractions, and preoccupations?
“If you remain in my word, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31-32
With these words of St. John as our initial and guiding light, we invite you to search with us at the Saint John Summer Conference this May/June. Through a 4 day journey into the spirit and life of the Community of Saint John, plunge yourself into a life greater than your own and meet other young adults who share your interest in the faith. Let’s seek the Truth together as we remember Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection through beautiful liturgies, bold witnesses, and inspiring community.
Come to the Saint John Summer Conference!
Find freedom in the Truth!
“Amazing! It was a fantastic opportunity to grow in holiness and meet Catholic peers who are serious about their faith.”
- Elizabeth Kunkel, 2011 Conference Participant
Invite your friends!
As a part of the Saint John Summer Conference, the Community of St. John will be hosting Family Stations of the Cross through the streets of downtown Peoria on Friday, June 1st at 7pm. We will meet outside of the Spalding Center to begin our prayerful journey. We celebrate the Stations of the Cross to witness to Christ’s Passion and to help us enter into the mystery of The Cross. Come join us with the whole family! Shuttles will be available for drivers who park at the Spalding Center, and crossing guards will assist throughout.
